About This Place

Located in the charming village of Glasson Dock, The Quayside at Glasson Dock is a delightful café that masterfully blends hearty British classics with inventive, comforting dishes in a warm, inviting setting. Whether you're craving a full English breakfast to start your day or a relaxing spot to enjoy a glass of rosé while watching the boats at the nearby marina, this café caters to all tastes with flair and genuine hospitality.

The Quayside’s menu is an enticing journey through some of the best of British café cuisine, elevated with thoughtful twists. Their Full English Breakfast, heralded by regulars as “the best ever,” boasts perfectly cooked eggs, savory sausages, and rich bacon that come together to create a satisfying and nourishing start. For lighter options, the Small All Day Breakfast offers a beautifully balanced plate that’s ideal any time of day.

If you’re in the mood for fresh, coastal flavors, their signature Fish and Chips and Posh Fish Fingers Butty stand out for their crisp, golden batter and tender, flaky fish. Complemented with traditional mushy peas and tangy tartar sauce, these dishes are served with a rustic charm that makes every bite memorable. For those seeking something a bit heartier, the Pulled Pork or Chicken & Mango Curry deliver robust, savory notes with generous portions that comfort and excite the palate.

The Quayside doesn’t stop at main dishes; their homemade cakes and desserts are a must-try. From the decadently moist Cadbury Chocolate Egg Cake to the tangy Lemon Cheese Cake with ice cream, sweet lovers are thoroughly catered for. Pair these delights with one of their expert coffee selections, like the smooth Rijo Latte or Coffee Renoirs, or treat yourself to a refreshing Pimms or a well-chosen glass from their wine selection for an added touch of indulgence.

The atmosphere here is as much of a draw as the food. The friendly, personable owners set an effortlessly welcoming tone that makes every visit feel like a homecoming. Reviewers consistently mention the warm, relaxed vibe and the way staff make both diners and their furry friends feel truly valued—bringing out sausages especially for four-legged visitors! It’s the kind of place where regulars return repeatedly, drawn by both the delicious food and the genuine connection.

Practical touches like good parking and late opening hours on Fridays for a cozy “chippy evening” add to the café’s appeal, making it an ideal spot for locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re dining solo, catching up with friends, or enjoying a casual lunch after a stroll by the marina, The Quayside offers a sense of place and comfort that resonates long after your meal is finished.

If you’re seeking a café experience in Glasson Dock that pairs fresh, thoughtfully prepared café classics with heartfelt hospitality and stunning views of the marina, The Quayside is the destination to know. Its blend of traditional flavors, innovative dishes, and a welcoming community spirit promises a memorable visit every time.

Went yesterday and enjoyed a very tasty lunch of poached egg on granary toast with avocado and chilli jam. It was a “special” so may not be available every day. I understand they stay open until 7pm on Fridays for chippy evening. Good parking is often available.

The food is just amazing, you'd think you were in a 5 star restaurant......the staff are so polite & friendly...... It's a tradition of ours to find a great café and stick to it whilst working away and oh my days is this a great café! Almost makes me want to move up here

That is the best Full English breakfast EVER. The staff and atmosphere is lovely too. And they gave my pug such a fuss (and a sausage). He was in heaven.

Good food, service excellent, owner very chatty & friendly. Very relaxed. Great place to meet friends or even go on your own. Situated near Glasson dock marina. So a nice view of the boats. 4 of us dined and selected different dishes, all food was enjoyable. Only one tiny criticism, plates needed warming to help food stay hotter for slow eater like myself, but don't let this put you off. Well worth a visit.

We called today after googling the best places to eat in the area and on the back of the reviews we read, and we were definitely not disappointed. The owners are fantastic, honestly, they are so friendly and go above and beyond. We took our little dog, everyone made a fuss of her and they even brought her a sausage of her own. The food was gorgeous. We had a full breakfast and egg and chips. All the food that was coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. You definitely need to try The Quayside if you are visiting the area. We will definitely be back x

Can’t fault anything about lunch today. We had a Jacket Potato each from the Specials board, Caramelised Onion, Peas, Sausage and cheese, topped with Crispy Onions and Gravy , the picture doesn’t do it justice, was very good and the kids had Jacket Potato with Cheese and Beans and Chicken Strips, again both very good. Staff were great and very clean and well run and can see why it gets busy.

What a great find. Cycled to Glasson Dock and found The Quayside. Staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. We both opted for the "All Day Breakfast" and it was awesome. Really enjoyed and we would very willingly return.

The food is good and I thoroughly enjoyed what I had. We just missed the option for hot food so I can't say how good that is but I have heard good things. The staff were very helpful to prepare special plates for a vegan member of our group. The key lime pie was spectacular. If/when I return i will try to get there before the kitchen closing to get the hot food and then I might be able to give the food 5stars as well. We sat outside and the weather was great so the atmosphere was perfect!
